The Shed held its bi-annual coffee morning last Saturday and it was a massive success! The Town Hall was packed to the rafters with townsfolk enjoying tea and coffee with cake and biscuits and a good old blether!

We raised a record amount of cash which will go to running costs for the Shed and for which we offer our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people of Dalbeattie!

Dalbeattie Men’s Shed have been selected by the UK Men’s Sheds Association to be their SHED OF THE YEAR, 2017 in recognition of our inspiring community contribution.

There's been a big demand for our bird/squirrel feeders and, with winter approaching fast, now is the time to be thinking of putting out additional nuts for our furry and feathered friends. This the latest batch of feeders to come off the Men's Shed production line and they're now available in the Solway Plant Hire shop window in High Street. A bargain at just £5! But be quick as the price is likely to go up soon. Why not pop along the High Street and see what else the Shedders have been making recently.

Our members find all sorts of uses for reclaimed timber. Some pieces are turned on the workshop lathes into attractive bowls, porridge spurtles, rolling pins and dibbers while other pieces are recycled to form things like small toys and ornaments, welly boot removers and even items of furniture for indoors and the garden.

We've also made chopping boards, coasters, tealight holders, bird nest boxes and feeding tables as well as different types of bird and squirrel feeders.
