September 2020 – Rolling again, and a Press call
This month saw many of the workfaces complete, the wheels came back from powder-coating looking good and were re-fitted; fitting the seat squab completed the upholstery and trim items such as the boot and bonnet catches, the radiator badge, number plates and makers plate were fitted. Although the Skeoch team will continue to rework some of the mechanics to improve robustness, the car runs well and is ready for the paint-shop.
Trinity Mirror’s editorial staff had contacted us at the end of August to do an update on this project, but with the car up on axle stands they deferred their photographer until mid September. This gave their reporter time to write a positive piece about the therapeutic benefit that Tom has felt from being able to work on this project with a small number of socially distanced fellow Shedders during COVID lockdown.
