Supporters and Affiliates

In the past three years Dalbeattie Men’s Shed is fortunate to have been supported by several individuals and organisations, friends and families, have donated tools, equipment, cakes and cash. Businesses such as TSD Construction Solutions, Patterson Engineering and Toolstream have helped us source materials and equipment at competitive rates. Third sector organisations such as Legion Scotland and Dalbeattie Lions have made donations, and those (listed alphabetically) below have helped significantly with either funds or organisational support.

Age Scotland

Age Scotland granted funds for 3D printing equipment and materials, and awarded Dalbeattie Men’s Shed their Member Group of the Year 2018, for services to the health and wellbeing of older people.

Co-op Local Community Fund

Co-op Food, Dalbeattie, donated Local Community Funds to the Shed for the purchase of small equipment, consumables and materials

Dalbeattie Chamber of Trade

Dalbeattie Chamber of Trade dalbeattiechamber.org made a donation to the Shed in recognition of the many hours spent refurbishing the Town Christmas Lanterns.

Dumfries & Galloway Council

Dumfries & Galloway Council provided funding which paid for the venue and main refreshments at the May 2018 Dumfries and Galloway Men’s Shed Festival (ShedFest) which was held in the Parish Church Hall, Dalbeattie. Dalbeattie Men’s Shed hosted the ShedFest with TSDG, the Men’s Shed raised and dispersed all funds for the event – on behalf of all the Sheds operational and prospective , in the County.

Dye Sublimation Supplies

Dye Sublimation Supplies are the principal supplier of equipment, blanks and support to our dye-sub printing facilities.

Foundation Scotland

Foundation Scotland part funded the the May 2018 Dumfries and Galloway Men’s Shed Festival (ShedFest) which was held in the Parish Church Hall, Dalbeattie. Identity Leather Craft are the principal supplier of equipment, leather, fixings, finishings, and support to our leather workshop

Kirkgunzeon Community Wind Farm Trust

Kirkgunzeon Community Wind Farm Trust provided funds for the initial set-up of our dye sublimation printing facilities with the provision of equipment and supplies for mug printing.

Legion Scotland,  Dalbeattie Branch has pledged to provide continuing financial support Dalbeattie Men’s Shed from 2016. Legion Scotland.

Paterson Engineering provide ongoing technical support to the Shed

Sport Relief 2016

Sport Relief Community Cash 2016 awarded funds to the Shed to set up our cold metal working area based on bench tools supplied by MetalCraft.

Tesco Bags of Help

Tesco Bags of Help provided funds via Tesco Castle Douglas to develop our dye sublimation printing facilities, by funding increased print capacity, platen press, blanks and supplies.

Third Sector Dumfries & Galloway

Third Sector Dumfries & Galloway provide continuing support to Dalbeattie Shed in terms of training, guidance and governance advice. They provide a similar service to other D&G Sheds on demand, and organise the Dumfries & Galloway Men’s Shed Network. TSD&G awarded Dalbeattie Shed 2018 Voscars for Organisation supporting Health & Wellbeing, and Board Member of the Year.

TSD Construction Solutions

TSD Construction Solutions have generously provided space for Dalbeattie Men’s Shed to meet and work in Unit 8 of their Castle Works, and continue to provide services, materials and encouragement to the Shed.

UK Men’s Shed Association

Dalbeattie Men’s Shed has been affiliated to the UK Men’s Shed Association since Q1/2015. This connection provides a window into development of, and influences on, Men’s Sheds throughout the UK. Dalbettie Men’s Shed Secretary is a UKMSA Ambassador for Scotland. Dalbeattie Men’s Shed won 2017-18 Shed of the Year award from UKMSA.
